Situated close to the walls and in the centre of the medieval village Montecarlo the Antica Casa Naldi is built on the foundations of a fourteenth century building. In the basement you can still breathe medieval air.
After extensive renovations the owners have maintained as much as possible the original appearance of the house; preserving the terracotta floors, wooden beams, stone walls and traditional decor.
The beautiful and spacious kitchen, with an ancient stone sink and a big fireplace, is since forever the meeting point of the house. It is always available for guests and is well stocked for a tasty breakfast. From the kitchen through a small terrace you can access a private part of the walls of the village with magnificent views over the valley of Valdinievole.
The rooms are bright and welcoming; doubles and triples each with a private bathroom, heating in wintertime and fans in summer; each named after a spice (vanilla, juniper, cinnamon ...) in honor of the village pharmacist who was in the house until the beginning of nineteenth century.
Finally, the beautiful basement room with its courtyard under the walls that lends itself to accommodate meetings for small groups (maximum 10 persons).
Antica Casa Naldi is a perfect place to discover the authentic Tuscany, living in a typical small village complete with its traditions but near the most important cities of the region including Lucca, Pisa and Florence. The strategic location also allows you to quickly reach the Versilia coast and mountains of the Garfagnana.
